Community Consultation

The community relations team is using a variety of tools to disseminate information to the local communities along the Southern Sydney Freight Line (SSFL) project route including this web site, posters and signage at railway stations, presentations and public displays, advertisements in local newspapers, letter box dropping of community notifications, doorknocking and hand delivery of notifications to residents and businesses directly affected by the works.

One of the most important avenues identified to consult with the community is through locally based Community Liaison Groups (CLGs). These groups cover the local government areas traversed by the SSFL - Bankstown, Fairfield, and Liverpool/Campbelltown (combined).

The purpose of the CLGs is to bring together local residents, business owners along with Council and Project representatives. The aim of the CLGs is to ensure that the local community has access to the project team in a two-way dialogue to ensure there are no surprises for the community and that impacts from the project are proactively controlled and minimised.
